A Slower, More Meaningful Summerโ€‹

โ€‹

UFS Summer Camp offers a nature-centered, play-based experience for children ages 4 and up, where summer feels spacious, joyful, and rooted in connection.

โ€‹

At United Friends School, summer isn’t about rushing from activity to activity. It’s about giving children time to explore, create, move, and build real friendships in an environment where they feel safe, seen, and supported.

โ€‹

โ€‹Each day at camp is thoughtfully designed. Campers spend much of their time outdoors, tending in our garden, playing on the playground, and exploring community green spaces where imagination, movement, and connection unfold naturally. Children dig in the dirt, splash at water tables and sprinklers, invent games under the trees, build structures, create art, and tell stories with friends. These are not “extras” to the program; they are the heart of it.

โ€‹

Weekly sessions run throughout June and Julyโ€‹

โ€‹

Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Optional 3:00 p.m. pickup available for an additional fee

Bricks, Blocks, and Puzzles Build it. Solve it. Try again.

Week One: June 15โ€‹

Ready for the challenge? In this hands-on, thoughtfully designed camp, children will stretch their thinking skills through building projects, puzzles, logic games, and cooperative “escape-style” challenges. Using LEGOs, blocks, and everyday materials, campers will test ideas, revise plans, and work together to solve problems.

โ€‹โ€‹

Throughout the week, children will practice patience, perseverance, and collaboration—learning to listen to one another, share ideas, and keep going when something feels tricky. As they build towers, design structures, and create forts, campers will grow in confidence and discover the satisfaction of working as part of a community, where every voice and idea matters.

Thrive & Survive: Outdoor Camp Explore it. Care for it. Grow strong.

Week Two: June 22โ€‹

In this nature-centered camp, children will explore the outdoors through hands-on experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of care for the natural world. Campers will spend their days in our garden and nearby green spaces, learning age-appropriate outdoor skills such as pitching a tent, observing insects and animal signs, identifying plants, and gathering together for songs and stories.

With guided exploration in the United Friends School garden and visits to the Quakertown Borough Park creek, children will practice cooperation, problem-solving, and respect for nature. Activities are designed with young campers in mind—focusing on exploration, wonder, and gentle challenge rather than survival skills.

Each day will include classic camp moments: storytelling, singing, imaginative play, and enjoying a s’more together—celebrating the joy and confidence that grow when children spend meaningful time outdoors.

Little Olympics: Home Runs & Hippocampi

Try your best. Cheer the rest.

Week Three: July 6โ€‹

In this joyful, movement-filled camp, children will explore teamwork, coordination, and playful physical challenges through age-appropriate games and friendly races. Campers will enjoy wiffle ball, soccer, obstacle courses, and imaginative Hippocampi Races, inspired by mythical sea-horse creatures from ancient stories.

Throughout the week, children will practice taking turns, encouraging one another, and building confidence through movement. Inspired by the Olympic spirit of community and cooperation, this camp emphasizes participation, perseverance, and joyful play. We’ll conclude the week with a light-hearted Olympic Opening Ceremony, inviting families to cheer on our campers and celebrate their effort, growth, and teamwork.

The Show Must Go On! Every story begins with imagination and grows when it’s shared.

Week Four: July 13โ€‹

In this imaginative and collaborative camp, children will step into the world of storytelling and performance, discovering how ideas turn into something real through play, creativity, and teamwork. Campers will help shape short scripts, explore characters, and design simple sets and costumes—learning that theater is built together, piece by piece.

โ€‹

Throughout the week, children will practice using their voices, bodies, and imaginations to express ideas and emotions in ways that feel comfortable and joyful. Some campers may love being in the spotlight; others may prefer creating behind the scenes—and both are celebrated. By listening to one another, taking small creative risks, and supporting the group, campers will experience what it means to be part of an ensemble where every role matters. The week will culminate in a short performance for families that celebrates effort, growth, and the courage it takes to share a story.

Artists & Bakers Extraordinaires Mix it. Make it. Share it.

Week Five: July 20โ€‹

In this creative, sensory-rich camp, children will explore the joy of making through art, food, and imagination. As campers step through the doors, they’ll be transported to cafés, bakeries and pizza shops, discovering how creativity comes alive through hands-on experiences.

Throughout the week, campers will shape dough, mix ingredients, explore textures, colors, and flavors, and create edible and artistic masterpieces. Activities invite children to experiment, notice details, and take pride in the process of making whether rolling, painting, baking, or designing.

Campers will deepen their connection to food and community through a live cooking demonstration with a real chef and a walking visit to a Quakertown café, discovering where ingredients come from and how care, creativity, and collaboration transform simple materials into something special. All cooking activities will be thoughtfully planned with allergies and dietary needs in mind, ensuring that every child can participate fully and safely.

This week celebrates curiosity, craftsmanship, and the simple joy of creating with our hands.

Flipped Fairytales Once upon a twist...
Week Six: July 27โ€‹

In this imaginative storytelling camp, children will step into familiar fairytales and discover the joy of turning them upside down. Campers will listen to classic stories, ask curious questions, and wonder aloud: What else could happen here? Through shared reading, playful discussion, and creative exploration, children will reimagine characters, settings, and endings in ways that feel surprising and new.

Throughout the week, campers will bring their re-envisioned stories to life through dramatic play, art-making, and collaborative games. They’ll build castles and moats, create simple props and costumes, and practice telling stories with their voices, bodies, and imaginations. Some children may choose to act, others to narrate, design, or support behind the scenes—each role valued as part of the whole.

โ€‹

The week will culminate in a short, joyful fairytale performance for families, celebrating creativity, cooperation, and the many ways children can share a story when everyone is welcomed and included.

Sensory Lab Discover what the world has to offer

Week Seven: August 3โ€‹

Welcome to our Sensory Lab where curiosity leads and every sense has a role to play. In this immersive, hands-on camp, children will explore how they experience the world through sight, sound, touch, taste, and movement, learning that noticing closely can be both playful and powerful.

โ€‹โ€‹

Throughout the week, campers will knead and shape dough, experiment with oobleck, chase and create bubbles, and mix materials for open-ended sensory art. Music expeditions—listening, drumming, moving, and creating sound—invite children to explore rhythm and expression. Time outdoors offers rich sensory experiences as children notice textures, patterns, and movement in nature. Older campers will explore the creek through guided sensory observation, while younger campers will enjoy playful water experiences designed just for them.

This camp is designed to be flexible and inclusive, honoring that children experience the world in different ways. Sensory experiences are offered as invitations rather than expectations—children may dive right in, explore gently, observe from nearby, or return when ready. All approaches are welcomed and valued. Sensory Lab celebrates curiosity, self-awareness, and the shared joy of discovery.
