Redirect Your State Taxes to Support Students at United Friends School

Receive Up to 90% Back in PA Tax Credits

Pennsylvania has created a transformational program that allows companies and individuals, who ordinarily pay state taxes, to direct their tax payments to schools like United Friends School. This provides financial aid support for some of Pennsylvania’s most deserving students and families. In exchange, participating businesses and individuals receive generous PA state tax credits for that year.

United Friends School was approved, once again, to receive gifts through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. This opportunity allows individuals and businesses to invest a portion of their state taxes in UFS, earning PA tax credits while directly supporting students’ opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

About the Program

The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program is designed to provide educational opportunities at schools like UFS for students who might not otherwise have access. Many of these friends come to UFS, where they are supported to grow into confident, curious, and compassionate learners.

Through EITC, individuals and businesses can redirect a portion of their Pennsylvania state taxes to benefit students right here at UFS. In return, you receive a PA state tax credit:

  • 90% credit for K–12 contributions

  • 100% credit for Pre-K contributions

That means your investment goes even further—meeting your tax obligation while ensuring that students in our community can experience a Quaker education rooted in care, community, and academic excellence.

By paying your taxes to students in your own community, you create a real and lasting difference in their lives.

We were honored to welcome Representative Craig Staats to United Friends School. After spending time in our classrooms, he shared why communities like ours benefit so deeply from the EITC program. Watch this short message to learn how Pennsylvania taxpayers can turn their state tax dollars into direct support for UFS students.

Why It Matters

Contributions through the EITC strengthen our financial aid resources, enabling us to extend support to those in greatest need. Your investment helps us build a diverse, engaged, and vibrant student body—one where every friend can flourish academically, socially, and creatively.

By investing in UFS through the EITC program, you create lasting impact: opening doors for students who might not otherwise have access to a Quaker education and helping shape the next generation of thoughtful, compassionate leaders.

From Governor Shapiro

UFS’s commitment to peace, integrity, community, and stewardship is deeply rooted in our Quaker values.  We are grateful that Governor Josh Shapiro has recognized this mission and the impact of our school on the Commonwealth. His letter affirms the importance of investing in education and shaping future leaders across Pennsylvania.

Your partnership ensures that UFS students not only receive an outstanding education but also learn the values of care, community, and responsibility that last a lifetime.

Thank you for helping us expand access to a UFS education through the EITC program.
When we began at UFS, we needed support in order to send our daughter there, but we were committed to ensuring she had an excellent foundation to her education. When we were able to support the good work of UFS on a daily basis for students and the world beyond the school, we were happy to ensure that other families would be able to send their children to UFS.
Supporting UFS is supporting a mission devoted to cultivating critical thinking in students and peace in the world. If we can be a small part of opening access to a UFS education to other families, then it is our honor to be part of such a mission.
We were part of the community from preschool through the end of middle school, so much of our memories of our daughter growing up are intriciately connected to UFS. Our daughter connected so well with the adults she encountered, which I think is unique in a place where teachers are so involved with the same students for years.
