-
Emergent, project-based curriculum: Nurtures curiosity and growth from our youngest learners through Kindergarten while developing early literacy skills — such as letter recognition, phonemic awareness, storytelling, and early writing —as well as math concepts like counting, sorting, patterning, and simple problem-solving.

-
Child-centered and play-based classrooms: Emphasize social and emotional development alongside academic learning. Children build collaboration, self-regulation, empathy, and confidence as they practice foundational skills in reading, writing, and numeracy.

-
Seasonal nature studies: Inspire exploration with an ever-changing nature table, themed story times, gardening, and outdoor play in the mud kitchen and classroom. Children develop early science skills, including observation, classification, experimentation, and understanding cause-and-effect relationships.

-
Academic foundations: As friends progress, they build stronger skills with Learning Without Tears (fine motor and writing readiness), Wilson Fundations (phonics, spelling, and reading readiness), and Bridges Mathematics (numeracy, counting, patterning, and problem-solving).

-
Quaker values: Daily experiences integrate Quaker testimonies, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning while supporting emotional growth, empathy, and community-mindedness.
UFS Playgroup
UFS Playgroup is a 3-day, part-time preschool program (M/W/F 8:15 a.m.—1:00 p.m.) that encourages children to explore, ask questions, and discover through hands-on learning. In our nurturing and creative environment, children build confidence, curiosity, and empathy while developing early skills in literacy, math, science, and problem-solving. Through structured projects, play-based exploration, and guided activities, your child will develop a love of learning and a strong foundation for future success.

Investigating science and math concepts, building early problem-solving skills, and exploring the world through play in the mud kitchen!
