United Friends School Affordability

United Friends School believes economic diversity enriches the educational opportunity for all families, and participation of a wide range of families is critical to the health of the school. Because the school is determined to make a Quaker education accessible to families from a wide range of economic backgrounds, the school charges a range of tuitions based on family income. Flexible tuition is based on the principle that a family’s financial commitment should be in equitable proportion to its financial resources. Every family is expected to contribute to the cost of tuition and fees, thereby supporting the community to the extent family circumstances permit.

To help us objectively assess what a family is able to contribute to education expenses, United Friends School uses TADS as a trusted third party. We use the TADS figures as the baseline for our flexible tuition determinations.  We also consider UFS’ policies and the resources available for returning students and applicant families. Applications are due the last day in February for the following school year, and recipients must re-apply annually. Complete our application online. Submit all historical information that is available with your application by the deadline and current tax information as it becomes available.

Notification of tuition determinations will be released within two weeks of TADS application completion. Decisions about admission and flexible tuition are two separate processes. All financial information provided will be held in strict confidence.

Please contact the Admission office at (215) 538-1733, if you have any questions about our Flexible Tuition Program.
