We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation for a generous gift of $50,000, a grant from the J.B. & Kathleen Reilly Fund. As many of you may know, the Reilly’s are a UFS alumni family, and have been stalwart supporters of UFS for many years. The gift will be applied toward the following critical UFS efforts:
Our STEAM Program, which will enable us to continue integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in order to enhance our children’s creative problem-solving abilities and 21st century skills, while solving important world problems and serving our community.
Our Scholarship Endowment, which will grow in perpetuity and make it possible for more students to join our UFS family. Contributions to UFS’ Scholarship Endowment are invested and the interest income earned is used to provide scholarships to families in need. The principal is never touched, thus insuring overall long-term fiscal health for the UFS Scholarship Endowment. Our goal over the next five years is to amass a UFS Scholarship Endowment of $5 million.
Our School Bus Fund, which will enable UFS to purchase a school bus to be used to transport students to and from school, and for field trips and excursions. To date we have raised $18,000 toward an $80,000 goal, an amount that will include the cost of purchasing, operating, and maintaining the bus.
